The carved doors of the granaries are a very characteristic example of DOGON symbolic iconography. Carved in the round, these finely crafted doors convey aspects of original and daily history through the representation of zoomorphic and anthropomorphic elements. We can also note in this door the presence of two circular elements symbolizing the "breasts of Nommos", or even aligned figures representing the tutelary ancestors.
