This impressive lot includes two original copper-engraved geographical maps, published in 1761 by renowned cartographers Louis Desnos and Buy de Mornas. Titled "Conquête de la Terre de Canaan Sous Moyse et Josue" and belonging to the iconic "Atlas général, civil, ecclésiastique et militaire," these maps stand out for their geographical detail, wide margins, and vibrant hand-coloring added later. They depict the Middle East region, including Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, and Asia Minor. Preserved in excellent condition, each map measures 60 x 48 cm. In addition to being a valuable historical item, they are perfect for decorating offices, libraries, or living rooms, adding a touch of sophistication and classic style to any space.
Shipped in a special cardboard cylinder for protection (unframed).
